Mr. Omar Abdelaziz is an experienced professional in the field of geology, mining and oil industry with more than 30 years of experience in the Egyptian market. Mr. Omar served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA), and was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Industrial and Mining Projects Authority (IMPA), which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. His working record also includes the National Remote Sensing and Space Sciences Administration (NARSS), Nasr Company for the extraction of mineral resources, the Misr company for the production of phosphates and the Sina company for the provision of oil and mining services (SSCO).
Mr. Omar Abdelaziz has extensive experience in the field of geological and geophysical field work: concluding concession agreements, licensing of deposits, as well as auditing the activities of mines and quarries. In addition, he held the position of Deputy Minister for Mineral Resources in the Ministry of Petroleum Industry; he participated in the negotiations of the Boards of Directors, gave recommendations on the development of the mineral resources sector, and was responsible for efficiency improvement planning of all sectors of EMRA.
During his career, he also held key positions and responsibilities in organizations such as the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (EGAS) and the Mansoura Oil Company.
